: Charbono - Help Me Complete the List; Posted by chadrich, Oct 27.; I've always had a fascination with small-production esoteric grapes (anyone recall Cabernet Pferrer?). And lately I seem to be hoarding every Charbono I can find. To the point that I think I may have to have a Charbono tasting. Below is the list of what I have on-hand. I'm interested in whether anyone has recommendations of others I should add to the list if I'm going to do this tasting right. I know Bonny Doon used to make one, but believe it isn't in their portfolio any longer.

2517 1738: Reply by Gregory Dal Piaz, Oct 27.; Well if you are close to NYC and have any interest I am pulling together a Charbono tasting myself. It'll look a bit different than yours though.

Anyway if you are interested in trying to coordinate our tastings I would be happy to oblige.

10 1140: Reply by dmcker, Oct 27.; Have had every Inglenook vintage from the mid-'60s to the end of the '70s, and remember them with fondness. Somehow I was able to get them delivered to me over in Tokyo in the early '80s.

8 70: Reply by chadrich, Oct 28.; Greg, thanks for the invite! If Atlanta was a bit closer to NY, I'd jump on the opportunity to join you. What are the odds that we're both thinking of a Charbono tasting?! Admittedly yours sounds more thorough and historically significant than mine. I've read a bit about the Inglenook Charbonos and would love the opportunity to taste thru the vertical (or near-vertical) that you've accumulated. Will anxiously watch for the tasting notes from the event.
And thanks for the additions to my list. I'll seek these out and also post my notes once I get my tasting of current vintages conducted.
