Hi kids,

31 year old sommelier from Central Massachusetts here. I'm looking for contacts, tasting buddies and pretty much anyone interested in wine geekdom local to me. Anyone?

My favorite grapes/wines include Nebbiolo (Barolo, Barb.), Corvina/Molinara/Rondinella (Amarone), Sangiovese (Bru, Nobile, Rosso) and the occasional Malbec (Cahors) or Cab.

Cheers!

Where in Central Ma do you live? I live in Townsend - NE of Worcester and very close to the N.H. State Liquor store. I checked out the web for tastings in Central Ma and found one on Nov 14 at a liquor store in Worcester - free. Web Site is:localwineevents.com

If you are near Hudson, MA there is an AWS chapter with monthly meetings. Members range from newbies to wine judges.

Great taste! Good to see some MA folk posting. I get the "Juice Update" for Central and Eastern MA. This is the website attackdog is mentioning.

Welcome Girl,

I'm a little bit up north but would like to have your opinion of the best place to taste wine in Central MA. I'll be there for a hockey tournament on the 20th of November. Thanks!

Hi! I'm in Hartford CT - which is within a couple hours drive of pretty much anywhere in Mass. I've almost finished with a tour of all the Connecticut wineries and hoping to start on Massachusetts in the next few months (depending on what's open). Any recommendations?

Attack, I'm in Auburn, which is down near the CT/RI border. I'm about five minutes outside of Worcester. Do you happen to know the store's name holding the tasting on the 14th?

Chuck, I don't believe I'm too near Hudson. I'm new to the area, from Providence, so I'm not totally familiar with my surroundings yet. I'll look into the AWS chapter.

Stratego, I taste at my place of employment or at Yankee Spirits, which is in Sturbridge. They have a huge, knowledgeable wine department and tons of free tastings and seminars. Also, their prices are low and they have case discounts.

MTB, I don't drink much local juice, as I don't think the growing conditions are optimal in New England for what I like. I could just be being closed-minded, though.

Girl, I used to live in Auburn and Yankee spirits in Sturbridge was my licor store of choice. They do indeed have a great selection.
