Original post by Bob Fyke, Dec 15, 2012.

Let's get together and share some great Sangiovese Grosso and dinner.

Where: Sojourn, 244 E79th St 10075

When: Thursday January 24th, 7:00PM

Theme: Brunello di Montalcino - Bring one bottle per person to share / compare / enjoy. We'll see what sub-themes develop.

Cost: Cost of the food, whatever we order from the menu, and a generous tip for the service.

Who: All are welcome. Let's limit to ten people, so everyone gets a pour of each wine.

I AM one of those crazy kids on the slopes, this is on a slow run:

See you tomorrow!

Oh sod. Made it through 13 roadside accidents in the Utah ice storm, checked in on the minute, made it on the plane and.... they closed the Salt Lake City airport. They have no idea when it will reopen (a plane slid off the runway) and I might not even make it to NYC by midnight. No matter how they route me, I won't be landing in time for dinner. I'm so sorry, I have been looking forward to meeting you guys in person for such a long time now!

Will try to make it back to NYC by summer and suggest a new dinner. Will definitely be bringing some good stuff then!!!

Greg - it is likely that they will put me on a flight tomorrow instead, in which case I won't be able to stop by at Snooth HQ either. Will get back to you on this as soon as I know.

*making very sad face*

In light of the limited response to this evening's fantastic tasting, it has been postponed!

Won't be able to make tomorrow either - in light of a 4 am arrival in NYC I opted for flying tomorrow...

Want to try another date?  We couldn't make the last one but certainly enjoyed the Cali Cab dinner a couple of years back.

On another note, was wondering about the Beaucastel tasting.  Can't say that i've ever tried one before but went to Gary's in Madison NJ this Saturday (picking up a 6 pack of David Arthur Elevation 1147 that our kids bought me for my birthday - YUM)  and they had a 2010 Beaucastel for tasting.  It was extremely dry, highly tannic and very little fruit.  wonder how that compares to the years at the Snooth tasting.
