Let's get together and share some great Sangiovese Grosso and dinner.

Where: Sojourn, 244 E79th St 10075

When: Thursday January 24th, 7:00PM

Theme: Brunello di Montalcino - Bring one bottle per person to share / compare / enjoy. We'll see what sub-themes develop.

Cost: Cost of the food, whatever we order from the menu, and a generous tip for the service.

Who: All are welcome. Let's limit to ten people, so everyone gets a pour of each wine.

You guys object if we taste the beaucastels in my office? 24th and sixth.  It's a lot simpler than dragging them around. I have glassware and if we are so inclined we can order up something to eat.

I'll bring the 1995 Beaucastel, if that's alright.

Sorry you can't make the Brunello dinner Mike, but looking forward to meeting you on Monday.

I'll update the first post.

Bob - why are you looking forward to meeting him? There's really nothing special about him.

Bahahahahahahahaha.

BTW, I think you may have met before. I've been at tastings where both of you were also in attendance.

If Greg does come expect him to be 30 minutes late because he would

1. forget where the venue is or

2. wandering aimlessly around the block in search of some aforementioned wine tasting.

Greg, you coming?

Got no Beau, bro.

And since my bike got stolen AGAIN last night, I'm too PO'd to go out sourcing any right now. Off to the UGC tasting. Maybe that will calm me down.

Hope you guys don't have any corked wines! Cheers all!

So are we all on for Thursday? And are there just three of us?? I can live with that - more time for me to hang out with the best of the best ;) No but seriously, it's more fun if more people can make it.

So I'm still without bottle to this (and trying to check my bag the whole way to Sweden, which means I can't buy any here). Are you SURE that is ok? Or is there a decent wine shop around the corner from the restaurant?

Looking forward to meeting you all! Hoping I can walk - the skiing out here was awesome today and I'm enjoying it way past my limit.

Hi Erica. Yes we are still on. There are wine stores in the neighborhood, but nothing I would describe as decent. No worries, we'll work it out. I'll bring an extra, in case it's needed.

I know of two others who are outside possibilities to join us, but nothing firm.

In any case, I'm sure we'll have a fine time.

Watch out for those crazy kids on the slopes!
