Brooklyn Wineries (really)

Brooklyn's third winery is opening soon, in Red Hook. It will join Brooklyn Oenology in Greenpoint and Bridge Vineyards in Williamsburg.

Fantastic!

The "tasting room" for Bridge Vineyards is terrific...

Aronowm2 - We're uploading a huge amount of price data today. I cant guarantee it, but i'm hopeful that some more brooklyn wines and stores selling them may appear on our site then.

These wineries sounds cool - i think its time for a company visit!

Haha, I still make that amateur confusion between winery and vineyard sometimes...pretty good business move to have tasting rooms in the city.

Bridge Vineyards claims vineyards, but I dont see how thats possible, at least not in Brooklyn. When I go I'll report back

I read about a guy who is making wine on Manhattan. He is growing grapes on terrace and making wine of it. I'll try to find link...

Disappointingly, after calling both locations mentioned at first here, neither of them are actually wineries in brooklyn, but tasting rooms. The wines are made on long island. I'd still like to visit them, but its a stretch to call yourself a winery and not produce wine on premise.

There are actually a bunch of Oakland, yes, I said Oakland wineries. A couple of them, JC Cellars and Dache Cellars, are highly rated by WS. I was surprised to find these places ... as it turns out, there are a lot of wineries in the Berkeley, Emeryville, Oakland area. Check it out:

I think Mark met, either these guys, or someone else from Oakland. He kept thinking they were based in the suburbs, or some 'rural' part of oakland, and a bit surprised when it turned out they were basically under the bay bridge!

Tell me about it! I live in Brooklyn, and he tells me about a wine event in my area that he attended a week AFTER the fact. So now i have to trek all the way out to Long Island to meet up with him
