Berserker Day

Posted by Lucha Vino, Jan 28, 2014.

Did anybody go berserk on Berserker Day over on the Wine Berserkers website?

I pulled the trigger on a three pack of Super Tuscan style reds from Kaella Winery based out of Woodinville.  This one is 86% Sangiovese, 7% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon.  The grapes are sourced from Ciel du Cheval, Conor Lee and Ambassador .  Three outstanding vineyards with the first and last in the Red Mountain AVA.

I forgot about it. Checked it out when I got home, but didn't want to buy anything after tasting wine all day. Would have picked up some Lagier Meredith tho. Luca - your shoice sounds brilliant. I would have taken that too. It's why I exercised restraint!

I'm on a SIWBM and stuck to it. There were some incredible deals, I showed great restraint.

Lagier Meredith, Cabot, Briceland, Sandler, Wilde Farm, Liquid Farm, Random Wine. Co, Jemrose, Chesters Anvil, Joseph Swan all caught my eye. It was a brutal day to say the least.

Just caught a few extra Liquid Farm mostly to qualify for the magnum raffle.

Probably should've grabbed some Cabot.

I think someone from Briceland used to post on here. Too lazy to check.

I've gotta start spending a little more time on WB.  But most of those are wines I've bought at discount from the wineries, at least the ones I want.  At some point, I need to try some of that Liquid Farm.

MReff, GregT said the highlight of that tasting was the '12 Rosso.  What's our take?  And what are the chances of another "Drink GdP's Wine" event in 2014?

OT- sorry to hear about SIWBM, but i get it... uggh.

Foxy, ANDREW46 was from Briceland... I chatted with him a bit.  He was the apprentice winemake for his parents.  Had some good wines coming out of the North Coast...

I also want to try some Liquid Farm Chard....

I dropped by to see what was up.  Yes, I have had some wines (Briceland) on Berserkers Day.  Napa Girl -  Thanks for remembering.  Since I last visited Snooth, I have taken over as Winemaker.  My wife and I bought the winery and the property where I grew up.

If anyone has time, drop by Berserkers this year in Jan.  I will have an offer.

Second (third?) the welcome back, Andrew.

I think I'm going to have to unplug my computer on January 27, though.  The stupid internet makes it too easy to buy stuff. It used to be I had to drive to a store and walk through aisles making wine buying decisions.  So, it actually took some initiative to go to my car and drive a few miles.  Now, I just sit on my butt, open a few e-mails or visit a couple sites and I find myself reaching for my wallet and keying in a credit card number.

Berserker Day is the worst.  You actually feel like you're chatting with, buying directly from, and publicly proclaiming your support for  Andrew or Carol or Merrill or. . . .

Yeah, I know.  First world problems.

Congrats Andrew! I've heard about Briceland, will have to look more in to them. Ditto on BerserkerDay but like EMark, my pockets hurting from pre-Black Friday buying.
