Now they'll be impossible to find!

Bedrock, Rockpile, Carlisle, Talty... it's pretty amazing that the bar for Zins just keeps going up.  One thing that I think is interesting is that the wine doesn't age very well, but the vines age spectacularly.  I know that older vines of many varieties produce better fruit for winemaking, but I think the difference is much more pronounced with Zin.  Good thing there are still vineyards out there that are so old.

Another winemaker who does a great job with these old vines and at reasonable prices is Matt Cline and his 3Wine label.  Some of these great old vineyards are in places that have historical importance but aren't really part of "wine country," like Contra Costa County.  Vines as old as 125 years that are squeezing out 1 1/2 to 2 tons of grapes per acre at most. Some even less.

Well. I just signed up to get on the Bedrock wait list.  Any idea how long it will take for the top of the list to trickle down to me?  If it happens post mortem, maybe a niece or nephew can inherit the spot.

After the next release he will open the remainder up to he waiting list. If you order you are on the permanent list.
