Australia - Yarra Valley or Mornington Penisula

Posted by John Andrews, Oct 26, 2008.

Hi All,

I'm here in Australia on a business trip and it looks like I will have one day to visit a wine region around Melbourne. I've decided on either Yarra Valley or Mornington Peninsula. So I am poising a question to my fellow Snoothers:

1. If you had a choice, which one would you go to? Yarra or Mornington?

2. In each region, which wineries would you go to?

Thanks,
John

Well, that's a tough one... if you like Pinot Noir try BOTH regions... if you like Shiraz/Viognier, try the Yarra Valley; visiting Yering Station Wines is worth the trip... try the following;

Yering Station Shiraz Viognier or the Reserve Shiraz Viognier ($70) but TRUST ME... it is a beauty!
Both reqions are good...

Yarra Valley it is! I'll post a review (probably as one of my blogs) after the visit.
