Your Message... Too much acidity. I don't normally do this but I will toss the rest of this bottle.

Wow, unusual for such an acclaimed producer to show like this. What are some of your favorite Pinots?

Agree with Greg, this is not representative of the producer. Did you get any indication there might have been something wrong with this particular bottle (granted what you describe isn't representative of the usual flaws) or did it seem like this was really the true nature of the wine?

I didn't comment when I first saw the comment at top, but my guess, too, was that the bottle might have been damaged. Opinions tend to vary about Au Bon Climat, but not many people I know recommend pouring it down the drain.
Donccpa, can you give us more detail?

I am currently drinking a 2006 Melville Carrie's and Cristom Eola-Amity Hills. I also fancy Burgandy's. The reason I purchased the Au Bon Climat is that I love the producer. Past Pinot's and Chardonnay's have been great. I tried another sample tonight and I have the same reaction. Maybe the bottle is bad. The wine is too young for poor storage to be the answer.

That's terrible. At least you're able to console yourself with some Melville. I an eying a few bottles for an upcoming Pinot tasting!
