Are you aware of what's going on?

It's a pretty short one.

While that's clever, the content of the ad is so far off message that I rather doubt it's all that effective.

Also, it's pretty easy to catch the trick when it's "Buffering..." in the middle of it...

are you telling us you noticed it first time Gr?

Yes, but wouldn't have if the video had played smoothly. (I had a 10 second buffering wait right as the furthest-right pass the white team made was received.) But my point is that this hasn't got any bicycles, cars, or even a road in it, so people will remember the imagery and the trick (and pass it along), but it fails to actually make its *message* (pay attention to cyclists when you're driving) memorable. Boo, advertising.

Fortunately I don't currently have a car. Maybe the ad should ask New York cyclists to watch out for moonwalking bears. I've seen stranger things.

I saw the original video that this ripped off (maybe it was the same group), and it's very effective, you don't notice the bear. Once you know their trick, it's hard to psyche yourself into not seeing the bear. Never miss the bear!

I saw the bear too, but I guessed what the point was before seeing it.

GR's got a point: if the bear were a cyclist, it should have been wearing hi-viz yellow or blaze orange, had head and rear lights, and been riding in traffic, not on the sidewalk. And don't get me started on bike lanes.

Generally, I tend towards minimizing reliance upon the vigilance of others. Attention overcompensation is not necessarily a bad idea.

On the other hand, I mostly thought of this as humor. A moonwalking bear!

If it had been a moonwalking polar bear, I would have seen it.
