"Wilde Farm is one of the most exciting new projects I have tasted in the last few years...Readers who can find these wines should not hesitate as they are terrific."

Fun to be early on these projects...hopefully they continue their success. Maybe one of us besides you and NG will get around to trying these soon ; )

I'll be trying the next buzz worthy Santa Barbara project soon, Habit.

Today (May 4) Garagiste is selling, with florid Rimmerman praise, Apsara Sauv Blanc and both Syrahs.  Whew! That's going to sell it out in a heartbeat!

Noticed the Faragiste memo, thought I was seeing double. Actually surprised he'd burn an offer on such a low production item.

I think it gives him some cred, and it also lets him send out more "Sorry, sold outs," which gets people pulling the trigger more quickly. Yeah, it can't be like the offers where he moves thousands of cases.

What Fox said. Meant to say the same thing earlier, but didn't need to bother...  ;-)

Without hesitation, I emailed Robin and congratulated him, while reminding him that I would like some of the 2012.  And, voila, there's the confirmation email and invoice with 2 regular and one whole cluster.

Robin's a rockstar--I wouldn't be shocked to see some huge names making a move for him soon.  Thanks, OT, for the introduction.

Well done Fox, though you should really get on this 2012 Burlotto Langhe Nebbiolo as me a step above Vietti's Perbacco. I'll be trying the Freisa and Pelaverga next. Better yet, maybe you could see them in Italy...I hear Bartolo Mascarello is good about taking reservations as well.

What are your plans so far?

The latest hard-copy edition of Wine Spectator had good words for the Ancillary 2012 Sangiacomo PN.

They also had love for 5 Bedrocks

  • 2012 Bedrock Heritage
  • 2012 Kirschenmann Zinfandel
  • 2012 Monte Rosso Zinfandel
  • 2012 Sodini Zinfandel
  • 2012 Sonoma Valley Old Vine Zinfandel

Mine just arrived, and I somehow missed out on the Ancillary.  Funny.  I did notice the Bedrock.

I get it because my mother in law got me a subscription. It lapsed a while ago, but it keeps coming.  Same thing happened when I was in my 20s and briefly subscribed to Interview, Andy Warhol's magazine of hipness.  Paid for one year and got five.

The plans are all made by GdP, so I'm at his mercy, JD.  Less than 36 hours till I get on the plane.

Well hopefully you can stay behind and  plug in holes after the traveling circus leaves that part of the Italian world...  ;-)

You do realize that we're all expecting you to bring each of us a bottle back from your trip as a travel souvenir?!

The Stephen Tanzer scores are in! Looks like he enjoyed it as well.
2012 Apsara Cellars Las Madres Syrah, Carneros - 92
2012 Apsara Cellars Las Madres Whole Cluster Syrah, Carneros - 90+
2012 Apsara Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Kenefick Ranch, Napa Valley - 91
Stephen's tasting notes for our Kenefick Ranch Cab:
"Sweet and lush on entry, then pliant and nicely deep in the middle, with sexy Taransaud oak tones complementing the youthfully medicinal dark fruit and licorice flavors."
