- Another kick in the balls to the Aussie wine exporters
The Australian dollar has just passed 92c US and is predicted to hit $1.10..
As an Importer of Aussie Wines, we have now made the decision to put things on hold importing from Australia until it drops below 85c
Another blow for an industry in crisis.

Wow - there's no room to increase the retail price of the wines? Aus makes some really good wines (both inexpensive and pricey), its a shame to see them getting a bad rap for all their sub $10 wines (which are still good for the price)

Ow, that's gotta hurt.
Can't see the dollar strengthening much in the near term.
Good Luck

Philip - where we are (Peru), we face 55% import taxes so we have to really search hard for Aussie wines with a good QPR. Because a cheap Banrock Station or Hardys is not going to compete with the Argentines & Chilenos
We're now focusing on Sth African & Italian.
The reason I think this a big blow to the Australians is because they are now associated with being cheap and cheerful in the US and UK
