Absurd Packaging - A Fire Extinguisher

Posted by Rodolphe Boulanger, Jul 31, 2008.

I just came across a new silly Vodka product called Firestarter that comes in a can with a Fire Extinguisher mechanism to dispense the Moldovan Honey Vodka. I don't think the can is pressurized so, alas, you can't spray your friends with with $40 liquor.

Anyone else find it misguidedly ironic that a product called fire starter is in a container with fire arresting connontations?

OK, so someone already made it as a mixed drink: vodka mixed with 151 proof rum, which you then ignite and try to imbibe. Sounds de-lish!

Silly product image, and slogan for that matter. "Excellence of substance" makes it sound destined for the chem lab.

Its honey flavored? I thought it would be peppermint or white pepper or cinammon. Something fiery...

The reality is that it is no longer Honey added at all. The vodka was recently rated "exceptional" by BevX. It is a 5x platinum filtered vodka (I find it very similar to Ketel) without the super premium price tag. Geniuses? No. Just a great idea.
