Following the not down-to-earth trend is this building in Chelsea that has an elevator and en-suite carparking (basically you drive your car into the elevator and park it on your 10th floor aparment):

There's a proposed one in Manhattans upper east which basically consists of 2 spires (like the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur) and suspended between them are 10 free hanging 6 story townhouses. Oh, and these spires twist in mid air! It looks like a strand of DNA really, but i cant find an image.
