A new idea -great deals floating around out there

Posted by Gregory Dal Piaz, Aug 10, 2012.

Here's one to kick it off, granted $100 is a lot to spend on a bottle of wine, and it's basically my limit but the 2007 Conterno Cascina Francia is a very good deal at this price. I don't expect to see this price again. No affiliation with the retailer nor am I endorsing him by posting this, just a good price on one of the iconic wines of Piedmont.

I am a man who is always looking for a good deal so I always keep an eye on the website www.bidforwine.co.uk and I make a point of visiting the town of Calais at least once a year

2010 Halcon Syrah and Mourvedre just released. Ridiculous case pricing of $20/btl from good peeps. Hey Fox, pop that '09 I gave you and find out that you want in on this. Maybe we could split a case.

The Halcon Vineyard is in the Yorkville Highlands of Anderson Valley in Mendocino County. Planted at 1,200ft above sea level in extremely rocky soil it produces an extremely pure cool climate syrah. Just a crazy place to farm.

Sign me up for a half case, your taste in Syrah is same as mine.

Yeah, I want in as well, at least just to sample the 2010 Syrah. Looks like incredible value. I see the 2009 available at Beltramo's for $20 also.
