2nd Annual New York City Cab Crush - Nov. 1st
Posted by Stephanie516, Oct 27.

There are some very cool events going on in New York City for those who are looking for some fun and a break from work. Check out NYC's First Public Cab Crush. Admission is only $15 and participants will get the chance to do some HANDS-ON WINE MAKING. Tasting stations will also be available afterward to give you the chance to see if you can differentiate wines-in-progress as well as finished wines. This is a fantastic opportunity to experience wine-making right in New York City and without the high price.

Here is the full description from http://www.citywinery.com:
"NYC’s First Public Cab Crush!

No, we aren’t crushing a pile of NYC yellow cabs. It’s harvest time and with grapes at their optimum ripeness, we are inviting the public to take part in this most important step in making any great wine - the Crush. We have top quality Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon inbound and we want you to get your hands on. This is a rare opportunity to be part of our wine-making team.

Attendees will be involved in taking those first steps to making truly memorable wine. By working the sorting table under the expert tutelage of winemaker David Lecomte and his team, you will see what it takes to ensure that great wine gets a great beginning. This is hands-on winemaking, the most direct connection you will ever have with the genesis of a wine.

In addition to the actual crush, there will be tasting-stations set up throughout the winery showcasing barrel samples of wines-in-progress, as well a selection of finished wines. This event intends to pull back the veil and share with inquiring minds the true magic that is winemaking in the heart of New York City.

New York City Food & Wine Festival had 200 lucky wine lovers recently get a chance to get their hands purple at a private crush. Be part of a select group, grab your friends, get down to City Winery, crush some Cabernet and get your hands on some seriously good fruit."

I already have tickets to this event and I'm excited to get my hands dirty as well as meeting more wine lovers. Sometimes I feel like my schedule is so packed that I don't have time to go over to the west coast or out of the country, for that matter. This is just a fantastic idea! Maybe I'll even meet some snoothers at this event!
