Wow some major wines there. Looks like you tried alot of wines.

Chad joined us for a recent Wine Friday here at Snooth. His book is lovely and worth checking out. I know he'll be doing a book signing on Wednesday, 7/22

He'll be preparing Tuna Ceviche with roasted red pepper sauce and signing

Gregory, Thanks for the shout out

Yeah, 68 wines in 3 days at Aureole, Las Vegas. I learned how to prepare duck confit, foie gras, cured meat and fish during the day and than enjoyed two marathon wine tasting dinners in the evening. Friday's dinner featured roughly 30 Rhone wines with 6 course Lyonnaise dinner. Saturday featured epic Napa and Washington State Reds with a 6 course American inspired tasting. They might do an Italian tasting in the Fall

Spain makes some great wines. I need to drink some more myself but I do have a few old bottles kicking around in the cellar. I think I will organize an old Spanish Wine dinner.

Hey Wineball, thanks for the comment! Yes, the wines from Aureol's Wine Weekend were very, very special but I've only given a perfect 10 rating to a dozen or so wines. When I taste a wine that I rank a perfect 10 (or 9), these wines take me to another place.  The flavor profiles go on and on in perfect harmony in my mouth. Wines that I scored perfect 10 - 86' Mouton, 95' Ducru, 1982 VCC and a few bottles of Barolo. I love old Spanish reds and American Cabernets too.

Jazzivins - I wish! Aureole hosted a 2-day Spanish Wine Weekend this year. I wanted to attend so badly but 2012 is the year that my wife and I decided to have a bambino.

That's a good example of reviving an old thread!

Any more tastings lately with details, Chad?

We should be putting together some more tasting here in the office a la Drink Greg's Wine.

Might be fun to see multiple takes on the same wines. Some might even warrant the perfect 10!

Speaking of wine thread rivivals and a perfect 10, I recently tasted through 2009 Bordeaux here in NYC and yes, I definitely gave a few perfect 10s.

BTW...just noticed that the killer was drinkning Clinet at home in the movie "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo".

2009 BORDEAUX: BEST WINE EVER? I like to disagree. You say it’s blue. I say it’s Pantone 267. Wine experts have purported 2009 to be one of the best years in Bordeaux. And I agree…sort of. Union de Grand Cru recently hosted another amazing event, pouring over 100 bottles of 2009 classified Bordeaux at the Marriott Marquis NYC. more

or should I just start a new category???

Gregory, I've been thinking the same thing...let's do a tasting!!! I'll post a video!

2009 Bordeaux's already been discussed a bit on these boards in other threads, but why not take the ball and run with it again, here? Would be interested to hear your take on the wines, the Bordelaise, Parker, the other critics and the whole 3RingCircus....  ;-)
