From the producer Miguel Torres: "The first bottles of the white wine, called Natureo, went on sale in Spain earlier this month. It is made from the Muscat grape, and the alcohol content is reduced to 0.5% by using a spinning cone, an extractor that separates alcohol from wine.", quote from Decanter

Is there a large enough market for wine that is virtually "alchhol free" to warrent production? I wonder how it tastes. Why not stick to a low alcohol Vihno Verde....?

Wouldn't it be simpler to come up with a way to take the sugar out of the grape juice and forget about fermentation and its pesky alcohol byproducts altogether?

What about the byproducts that actually add to the taste of wine? It's a niche market, but one that isn't really addressed, so I think it warrants production.

I wonder, however, if the target market really cares for those compounds?

The non-alcoholic wines that I've tried so far have been really awful - the answer to a question that nobody asked.
