Sampled at a wine tasting with friends in August 2009. Dark purple, thick color, enough to stain your teeth purple! Sediment in the bottle. Aromas of a dank cave (perhaps starting to turn), dark plum fruit and earthy....

I think that a late harvest zin is the way too go, but you can also never go wrong with Scotch. My personal favorite is the Dalwinie 15yr it has nice sitrus flavor and is not overly peaty.

For me its the complexity of the taste. If you are saying "hypothetically" I wouldn't lose any of the taste without alcohol - then I would absolutely do it. I cant think of how many times I've had to restrain myself from...

I feel cornered with the wine though sine this crowd has asked specifically for it. I'm sure future meets can be enjoyed with a scotch, armagnac/cognac or rum.

I prefer to celebrate dinner with red wine. Especially with Italian Food. After dinner nothing beats Single Malt Scotch with a fresh cigar. My go to favorite is Talisker.
