"tough" on Snooth
Zufrieden- Port was a direction I was considering too, but it's tough to say without knowing the kind of cake. Some Inniskilin may meet the cake on the decadence level as well... specially the riesling ;). Tasty.
I like that description of east coast Cab Franc. I never really thought of it ... Long Island wines are tough to come by outside of Long Island, so being your from the Pittsburgh area I can see it being tough to get...
I have ordered this wine when available and it is by far a great wine to enjoy ... is earthy, raspberry with a tough of smoke and a excellent finish
Bodegas Miguel Calatayud Vegaval Plata Gran Reserva Valdepenas Do 2001

The label (Dry Creek Zin, 15.6% alcohol) and young age suggest a bruiser. But ... red without any harshness, tough tannin, or heat. The dark cherry, plum, and spicy berry fruit courses across the palate, while the texture...
So a question in one of these threads, or perhaps in a comments thread on one ... the prices I'm paying it's tough to get a more interesting wine in s full throttle fruit forward style. Ok I see an argument coming there!...
