"sours" on Snooth
In my recent "Introducing myself" (see Fullbottle) I inadvertently (well, not really) mentioned my love for the sparkling shiraz (fomerly sparkling burgundy but we are not allowed to call them that any more) that we in...
I'm an Aperol fan, and first had it at the home of American friends in Germany, where .5 oz or so in a glass of prosecco was quite trendy. I love that, and have introduced lots of folks to it. It's great with Cristalino,...
Deep ruby color. Wonderful aromas of strawberries with hints of coffee and pipe tobacco. Taste of strawberry, plum, and sour cherry and chocolate. Very well balanced flavor and acidity.
The Nk'Mip Cellars Qwam Qwmt has a muted nose of half-ripe red fruit, celery salt and mild barnyard. The attack is quite tart, with sour strawberry dominating the flavor upon entry. There is some structure and elegance...
Rich but restrained and elegant. Nose of cherry, juicy red fruit, pepper and other spices and pencil shavings. Palate of red fruit, sour cherries and spices. Oak imparts an almost caramel-like rich sweet smoothness to the...
Great full-bodied, smooth and tasty zin. Lovely spice on the nose, berries and jammy flavors with a hint of oak, and light tannins. Finish is slightly sour.

Restrained, elegant wine that is quite different from the typical Australian Shiraz -- presumably hence the decision to call it Syrah. Rich, intense nose of rich dark fruits, raspberry and cassis with spices (cinnamon)...

What a surprise since I picked this up after reading a brief article on Carmignano and thought to taste one. Amazing nose that reads like a basket of red fruit. First it's raspberry, then wild berries and then cherry...
