Honey, evergreen, and smokey wood on the nose. Assertive, yet well balanced tannins with flavors of black cherry, oak, and honey with an herbal backdrop. Medium bodied with a pleasant lingering finish.

Old world style that isn't overly fruity. Very smooth with some notes of smoked meats.

Along with the ripe fruit I got lots of smoke and meaty notes from this bottle. It was very unique and welcome change up.

Powerful mineral, earth and to a lesser extent, smoke and moss flavors. The fruit is present, but thin. Interesting. Would nicely accompany a meal of beef rouladen and dumplings. A fairly priced table wine.

A great example of Northern Rhone Syrah with dried and lightly smoked meats, black pepper, wild blackberries, and a light saline, iron/earthy element. A meal in a glass showing power & grace!

Easy to drink. It has a light smokey wood flavor but tastes a little like cheap wine. I ate corn beef with it, they paired very well together.

17th vintage for this Rhone style pioneer. Unfiltered and unfined the wine shows lemon custard, exotic citrus and pear notes with a hint of smoke. Definitely worth a try.
