Read moreObviously, I've thought a lot about this one, and it wasn't an easy question to ... flavor can be so amazing, sensual and physically enhancing that it's hard to put down that 'one too many' glass. But on the other hand, the occasional buzz is quite nice. NO Vodka Gregory! Shame! That's to be enjoyed on its own..... ;) Anyhow, as for the food enhancements, if that did not still exist without alcohol, then I'd say no way. I'd find something else. Wine is to food as calculus is to physics.... virtually impossible and wrong to have one without the other. Yin and Yang... Mork and Mindy!   Kiamie Wine Meritage 2006

  everything you could ask for in a reasonably priced meritage. This wine is ... it now. The darkness and sensuality of the Petit Verdot really shines here and adds a hedonsitic element to this bottle

Since Barbera is a notorious pizza wine I had this with a Digiorno Ultimate Pizzeria pizza and it did not disappoint    (hide)

Clos du Mont Olivet Cuvee du Papet, 2000 This wine is cruising its way into maturity, displaying a savory nose of grilled rosemary, cedar, hearty plum, salted pork and pepper. The palate shows good concentration, w/ a chewy overlay sweet raspberry fruit pushing the mineral core through the fresh, juicy finish, 93 points    (hide)

We paired the '85 Dominus with my wife's sensational grilled lambchops, lemon potatoes, several cheeses including a truffle-infused beauty that nearly sent me spiraling into euphoria and a host of Greek dips and pita. 94 points for the Dominus, if one is forced to put points with such an experience.
