"Pork" on Snooth

November 2009

Try a slightly chilled Australian Sparkling Shiraz for something a little different if you can source one (happy to recommend if you can get some label names). Marries beautifully with turkey and cranberry sauce (as well...

Soil, earth, prosciutto and stemmy pinot fruit greet the nose with an accent of well-integrated wood spice. Nice acids in balance with the pure fruit. This has a lovely, unforced feel with dark raspberry and cherry tone to...

Gf Going Forward Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2007

Starting at $22.99 Snoothrank: 3.5/5

Excellent old vine zin. If you are lokking for a wine that goes with beef or pork and want somthing that is easy on the palette I would say give this a try. For the price it is a winner.

Gnekow Family Campus Oaks Old Vine Zinfandel 2006

Starting at $14.99 Snoothrank: 3.5/5

I have ordered this wine when available and it is by far a great wine to enjoy with prime rib or pork osso bucco. On my palette it is earthy, raspberry with a tough of smoke and a excellent finish.

A good solid cab at a good price. I would think that a good smoked ham with thanksging meal would pare well with this wine.

B Side Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2005

Starting at $24.19 Snoothrank: 3/5

TLushese - Thanks for the recommendations. I haven't decided between a nice Riesling or a San Francisco sourdough bread and salami gift basket from Boudin Bakery, haha. I'm going to try looking for Peju. Any particular...

There’s a touch of VA on the nose here adding lift to the rich nose that combines elements of leather, tar, prosciutto and barnyard with jammy, candied cherry fruit tones. This has wonderful structure with great acids...

Tenuta di Nozzole Chianti Classico Riserva 2004

Starting at $23.39 Snoothrank: 4/5

Not very expressive on the nose with small notes of vanilla tinged sweet raspberry fruit, earth, and daisies joined but suggestions of antiseptic and smoked ham. On the palate this starts with a rush of very ripe yet...

San Giusto a Rentannano Chianti Classico 2007

Starting at $23.94 Snoothrank: 3.5/5

But your friend must have some reason for his belief, no? Generally it has to ... are a lot closer to pork. Shellfish also run the gamut from delicate scallops to sea snails, and then there are squid and octopus that...
