"Pastries" on Snooth

cherry, coffee and blackberry on the nose, intense tart, acidic cherries on the palette with delicate oak and subtle hints of cocoa, with plum and cherry vanilla finish. This wine could easily age more.

El Coto Rioja de Imaz Gran Reserva 1996

Starting at $34.99 Snoothrank: 3.5/5
November 2009

Green olives and pineapples on the nose. Pineapples and citrus continue through the mouth, the wine is green and not in my style. Finishes with a tart citrus tang.

Black Box Cabernet Sauvignon

Starting at $18.99 Snoothrank: 2.5/5
November 2009

Plum and blackberry nose. Flavors are tart, with good acidity, light tannin and a hint of black olive on the finish.

Black Box Wines Merlot 2007

Starting at $19.99 Snoothrank: 3/5
November 2009

Black Box Wines Merlot 2007

Starting at $19.99 Snoothrank: 3/5

St. James Winery Blackberry Wine NV

Starting at $8.69 Snoothrank: 4/5

I'm lukewarm on this one. I agree with the tartness comment posted on one of the other reviews. I also thought it was thin.

Quivira Zinfandel Steelhead Red Dry Creek Valley 2006

Starting at $12.99 Snoothrank: 3/5

tart and harsh. Not an easy drinker

First Drop The Red One

That Pie Franco is indeed a good wine. They also do a version in barrique, super small production, not imported but I have some and think it should be, and their basic verdejo is very good too. Their sauvignon blanc is...

Dark red almost black in the glass and showing aromas of caramel, chocolate sauce, roasted chestnuts and spiced cookie with a bit of fresh latex paint which added an odd complexity that I'm still not sure if I hated it or...

Tommaso Bussola Recioto Della Valpolicella Tb 2001

Tart and dry, salty lemon flavor with a bit of honeysuckle.
