"Pastries" on Snooth
cherry, coffee and blackberry on the nose, intense tart, acidic cherries on the palette with delicate oak and subtle hints of cocoa, with plum and cherry vanilla finish. This wine could easily age more.
Green olives and pineapples on the nose. Pineapples and citrus continue through the mouth, the wine is green and not in my style. Finishes with a tart citrus tang.
Plum and blackberry nose. Flavors are tart, with good acidity, light tannin and a hint of black olive on the finish.
Softly sweet earthy nose. Quite sweet, but with good typical merlot mouthfeel, and flavors of coffee, spice, anise. There's a manufactured quality on the mid palate, but its not too distracting. Finishes on a nice tartness...
If you visit the St. James Winery web page they have a section of recipes. There is a delicious Blackberry Wine cake that is awesome.
I'm lukewarm on this one. I agree with the tartness comment posted on one of the other reviews. I also thought it was thin.

Tart and dry, salty lemon flavor with a bit of honeysuckle.
