Greg's list is a good one. I would just add that oaked wines can pick up a sweetness from their wood treatment so if you're looking for particularly dry wines it might be best to avoid those styles.

Had a couple more minutes to spend, so decided to add some more names to the ... high-alcohol over-oaked types that many producers put out for a number of years. Conduct your own survey, and let us know what you find over...
