"mouthful" on Snooth

November 2009

kylewolf - Thanks for the breakdown, those are all affordable ranges for me and ... MarioRobles - Sounds like a mouthful of a name, and I hope I have no problem finding it here. Please don't feel restricted to name just...

We stumbled upon this wine by chance. It is deep, deep red, tending towards blackness with sturdy legs and the nose is redolent of dark berries. Rich and jammy in the mouth with a long and clean finish. To sum up, we...

October 2009

Creamy nose with hints of pyrite. Very mineral in the mouth, with a cool iron and iodine flavor. Intense fruits, bordering on a licorice flavor. Very powerful and intense, with a thick concentrated mouthfeel.

DMZ Shiraz 2008

Starting at $14.99 Snoothrank: 3/5
October 2009

Almost smells like it’s got a bit of Pinotage in there with it’s smoky, rubber tones but that may simply be some reductive funk as it begins blows off with air. Revealing tons of cracked pepper with some subtle soil...

DMZ Shiraz 2008

Starting at $14.99 Snoothrank: 3/5

Intensely Chocolaty on the nose with a spicy, tropical fruit/ orange peel tone and perfumed, brambly, juniper scented blackberry fruit. A bit chunky and even chewy in the mouth but with refreshingly raw tannins and nicely...

Lionheart Wines Syrah Dry Creek Valley 2007

Starting at $43.00 Snoothrank: 3.5/5
October 2009

Rich dark bloody nose. Full bodied dark fruits in the mouth with mild pepper and a gentile finish. A great wine for the price.

Excelsior Shiraz 2007

Starting at $7.95 Snoothrank: 2.5/5
October 2009

Raspberry, blueberry, and mango treats are dancing in this wine. A sweet celebration in your mouth. Some citric acid and underdeveloped tannins, and it seems to fade quickly.

Yeah, I, too, thought the Rutherford Cab would've been blasted into oblivion at that point in the order. Also would place the Turleys last. Am curious, though. Do you guys never start with a white of some sort to get the...

An instant almond rush on nose. In mouth, citrus fruit then distinctly floral right at the back of an extremely deep palate. Oak ageing gives a toasted nutty finish, ending with a refreshing touch of bitterness.

Full bodied red as you would expect, great on the nose with slight spicy and citrus flavours.. nice long consistant finish with every mouth full.
