Love sparkling shiraz ... I work part-time for an Aussie wine maker and at our winery dinner last year he brought out a 1992 Sparkling Shiraz. Thing was bloody awesome!

Don't know how adventurous you wish to get (if that's really the right word), ... remembered some excellent meals with pinot noir I've had based around rabbit, both in Switzerland and along the Russian River in Sonoma....

.......... the other good thing about having an annual VP tasting is that it provides an opportunity to see material in the cellar that has tended to accumulate over the years. We don't seem to drink port at dinner parties...
