"leather" on Snooth

November 2009

This year I got the opportunity to participate in a winery employee project. ... Nice aromas of plum, leather and smoke. Had some nice clove and spice taste but fruit not quite there. Good acidity....

Tastes of leather, rich berries and cream all aged in oak. A nice malbec with hints of spices typical of a shiraz. Very drinkable by itself.

Dona Paula Estate Shiraz/Malbec 2007

Starting at $13.49 Snoothrank: 3/5

Loads of pungent dark fruit and spice, hints of oak and leather, big red raspberries and ripe blackberries, baking spices, molasses, and cocoa.

Slightly leathery on the nose with a sweet cherry and white pepper flavor. Musty with earthy, leathery flavors that mix with blackberry and raspberry. Good grip throughout, leading to a powerful finish.

A very good, if atypical Barossa Shiraz. Blueberry and bitter chocolate spar on ... nice spice notes and earthy leather underneath it all. This one opens up slowly, and is actually drinking better on day two (vacuum...
