"Italian Cuisine" on Snooth

Nice dark color. Tight nose but has some cherry, oak, cedar. Nice round mouthfeel, soft tannins, with good cherry flavors. No fakeness in this wine for the price point. Great pizza wine.

Gran Castellflorit Cab. Sauv 2001

Starting at $10.99 Snoothrank: 3.5/5

Dark & inviting. A big, bold wine! Deep, fruity flavor. "Plush" as used in other reviews is quite correct. Highly enjoyable with our home made sauce and pasta. I felt it was an excellent Italian for the price.

Antinori Santa Cristina 2006

Starting at $14.99 Snoothrank: 3/5
November 2009

Very drinkable - it went very well with pasta

Altos las Hormigas Malbec 2008

Starting at $10.49 Snoothrank: 3/5
November 2009

Great value for a smooth wine w/ a slight kick. Local grocery store had it 2 for $10 this month--would pay 2-3X that. Went great w/ my spiced pasta / tuna entree.

Pepperwood Grove Pinot Noir 2008

Starting at $9.69 Snoothrank: 3.5/5

I wasn't really familar with the Poulsard varietal. Apparently it's a big ol' grape that has quite a thin skin. In the glass, the wine is very light with a slight cloudiness and a dull garnet color. On the nose, the aromas...

A perfectly good table wine, light with a pleasant carry on the palate. Not complex at all but enjoyable to drink just the same. Would go well with cold antipasti or a main course based around red sauce.

Farnetella "Lucilla" Toscana IGT 2006

Starting at $15.25 Snoothrank: 3/5

Big and fruity. Pretty sweet and a long finish that was a little spicy with pasta marinara. I would buy it again. This is the first Zinfandel varietel that we tried

Gnarly Head Cellars Zinfandel 2007

Starting at $8.99 Snoothrank: 3/5
November 2009

A Spanish rioja with a chicken, peppers and rice dish for Saturday lunch right now....

November 2009

Tonight I'm drinking Eikendal Classique a Cab/Cab Franc blend from South Africa with a bowl of pasta with turkey bolognese sauce.Tomorrow - who knows? What about you?
