"Game" on Snooth

November 2009

Hello! Stumbled upon this site the other day and dove right in. Really enjoying reading tasting reviews out there and seeing what other people have to say about some of my favorite wines. Heres one for you - what are...

On the nose.. Wet forest with some subtle gamey meat mix with dense fruit and spice. Opulent, full bodied and tightly wound in the mouth with the lingering of pepperiness on the pallate through a long finish.

Jean-Michel Gerin Cote-Rotie Champin le Seigneur 2005

Starting at $41.99 Snoothrank: 3.5/5

I recently got my hand on several bottles of this vintage, and to be honest, i ... continued to change. Some gameness and very ripe fruit started to come to the forefront and the blueberry became more leather. As we...

I don't think I've met a banker in the past decade who doesn't have a Bloomberg ... is as frequent as in a game of musical chairs (sorry for the mixed metaphors), that's often how everyone keeps track of each other. And...

earthy, very gamey, mushrooms on the nose with hints of varying red fruits, cocoa and some spice on the palate, with richer fruit components - black cherry, blackberry and earth tones on the finish.

Matanzas Creek Winery Pinot Noir 2007

Starting at $30.99 Snoothrank: 4/5

A little gamey on the nose. Big soft pinot fruit with lots of complexity and and relaxed finish.

This wine is smelly wet animal taking a poop while eating a bag of prunes. Far ... and in a whole different game. The fruit does not show through like it should in a pinot noir. On the palate this wine lets me down...

Goose. Each year "Food and Wine" puts out a buying guide. It features every major region, and each of their sub-regions, it highlights "emerging regions" (I think Ohio may have been included in last year's edition), and...

Really delicious wine! Excellent minerality, intense dark red cherry, and a little gamey character. Great spicy finish that really evolves with a little air. Great pairing with the rack of lamb we had for dinner.

Domaine de la Curniere Vacqueyras Rhone Red 2006

Starting at $16.99 Snoothrank: 3/5
