Black olives and bay leaf flavors on the nose. Rich and dense with chocolate and green pepper notes. There's a hint of truffle and some barnyard, before the wine finishes on barely ripe raspberries and cherry flavors....
A very earthy nose of mushrooms, wet soil and truffles. Firm acids on the attack, give way to sour cherry and raspberry flavors. The finish is taught, but offers good fruit and some nice vanilla tones from the oak.

Still plenty of oil produced in California, Greg.... I don't think French produce is any better than Sonoma produce, unless you're talking about specialty items like truffles. But French wine can be better than California...
