Starting at $25.00 My first experience with French wine. The color is a medium dark red. The ... middle. We paired this with Filet Mignon and it was excellent

Finca El Reposo Malbec 2006
Snoothrank:
I didn't have this with grilled sausages or Parrillada Mixta, but I did have it ... it with a rather gamy petite filet, and I think I would have been nowhere near as satisfied with the meal without this wonderful Malbec. Soft, sumptuous, smoky and sweet. Very complex. Cassis,... Read more

Roast Duck is great with Pinot. I like the combination of mushroom and filet, ie beef wellingtonesque dishes I would characterize the styles as Burgundian for the Felton Road and very much what Oregon is hoping for with the Maysara. So one wine is rather bright and precise while... Read more

Chateau Leoville Barton St.-Julien 2005
Snoothrank:
After not having given Bordeaux's much traction, a friend and I decided that we ... San Diego. We had it with filet and it was nothing short of amazing. Silky, velvety, a touch of smoke, and an elegant finish that went down, down, down..

Chateau Castelbruck 2003

We had this very nice Bordeaux on a Sunday night dinner and paired it with Pork filet mignon. The wine was very smooth, with flavors of berries, subtle and tasty. Thanks to the friends who brought it!

Chateau Arnauton Fronsac 2005
Snoothrank:
For the price (you can find it for $15 on other sites) this is a wonderful "drink now" wine. It should get a little more depth with age, but you simply can't beat it with a fillet with port reduction sauce or BBQ lamb. A real treat, especially if you enjoy the Fronsac earthy quality.

Chateau Montelena Zinfandel Estate 2005
Snoothrank:
Earthy, chewy, a nice peppery bite when paired with some spicy food (really ... good with a peppercorn filet), and full of berries. Even so, more on the brambly and tobacco side than fruit. I really enjoyed it now, with or without food. I will try to avoid the temptation to drink... Read more

Duck is a great match for Pinot Noir. A lighter cut of steak is also a good choice. Filet or eyeround, with a not to aggressive cooking method. Say pan seared is also a good choice. What style of cooking do you prefer?

Page Cellars The Stash 2005
Snoothrank:
Had it last night with Filet. Amazing wine! Less than half the price of Opus One or Insignia but every bit as good. A little less bold but incredibly tasty, and an amazing finish that lingers forever. I have another bottle that i'm going to cellar for another couple of years.
