I grew up In Rochester, so I know the Finger Lakes fairly well. I like Lamoreaux Landing, Red Newt, and Standing Stone, also Lafayette Reneau and Herman J Wiemer. Sheldrake Point and Hosmer are also very good. There are...

We took our honeymoon (bike trip) through the Finger Lakes, and have had a number of trips to the wineries in the past. The best wines made in the Finger Lakes are Riesling and Gewurzrtraminer. The latter are generally...

Chateau Pesquie Cotes du Ventoux Terrasses 2007

Starting at $12.49 Snoothrank: 3.5/5

A huge Pinot from the Columbia Gorge near Mt. Hood. A fantastic nose of ... tannins, it may be useful to decant to open up the wine. At 14.8% alcohol you will notice it is not quite ready for instantaneous consumption...

Sineann Pinot Noir Phelps Creek 2006

Starting at $40.49 Snoothrank: 3.5/5
November 2009

Really loved this wine. Almost equal parts of Merlot, Cab Franc, and Cab Sauv, ... mineral and cedar (was not decanted). Definitely worth the moderate price tag
