  • Heinrich Blaufrankisch 2005

    Snoothrank: Starting at $14.89

Powerful mineral, earth and to a lesser extent, smoke and moss flavors. The fruit is present, but thin. Interesting. Would nicely accompany a meal of beef rouladen and dumplings. A fairly priced table wine.

  • Ave Wines Premium Torrontes 2008

    Snoothrank:

Extremely fresh and vibrant. Oily and tart with an essence of lemon rinds. Reminds me a lot of an albarino. This is clearly a food wine that went great with yellow thai curry chicken and dumplings. Alone this wine is just average but torrontes is generally a food one that goes great... Read more

  • Cosa Dolce Syrah Dolcetto

    Snoothrank:

A Real summery wine, with a haze of strawberries, apples and apricots. Reminds me of a summer fruit pudding, would probably accompany a christmas pudding nicely.

  • Bink Wines Sauvignon Blanc Randle Hill Vineyard 2008

    Snoothrank:

Tried this at Willi's Wine Bar in Santa Rosa for our anniversary. Wife LOVED it. Went well with the scallop dumplings and pot stickers.

  • Stump Jump Grenache/Shiraz/Mourvedre 2007

    Snoothrank:

I would recommend decanting this wine to get its full potential. Initially there is a good bit of oak and spice on the nose and an underlying mix of dark fruits. This opens up to a plethora of stewed fruits reminiscent of a christmas pudding. these fruits follow through onto the... Read more

  • Caligiore Grazioso NV

    Snoothrank:

Very light nose with maybe a hint of honeysuckle. Very buttery palate at first which gives way to orange flavors. Refreshing chilled with Chinese dumplings--thanks to Po's Dumpling Bar of Kansas City!

  • Chateau Cos d'Estournel 2005

    Snoothrank:

If you add together all the tastes different reviews compare this wine to, you would have the world's worst salad... "spicy clove and pepper aroma over cherry, smoky leather and raspberry" "currant, plum, minerals, licorice and graphite" "orange peel, new leather, currant, berry... Read more

  • Charcuterie, schnitzel and even chicken and dumplings have all been successes for me in the past with Gewurtzraminer. I also remember one fine Saturday afternoon on the patio with a good goat cheese and fruit salad that included plenty of melon and lychee and mint. Though lots of... Read more

  • Paul Pernot et Ses Fils Bourgogne Blanc 2007

    Snoothrank:

This is a wonderfully easy drinking Chardonnay from a great area in Burgundy - Puligny Montrachet (Cote de Beaune in Cote D'Or) - and apparently the grapes for this wine come from prime real estate in and between Puligny and Mersault. It was recommended to me and I don't regret it at... Read more
