  Hi and welcome! I've tried Burrowing Owl and love what they are doing. BC has a lot of great wineries. I think it is only a matter of time before more people take notice.

My favourite is the Meritage (still holding on to one last 2004 from my trip there). Closer to my home (Ottawa) is a new region called Prince Edward County...excited to have our own mini-mini-Sonoma only 3 hrs away...We stopped in a for quick visit this summer and were surprised at the quality of the wine. Rosehall Run was our favourite - I really liked the chardonnay. Huff Estates had a lovely tasting room and an interesting Vidal... !http://www.bovwine.ca/photos.html    (hide)

  Here's a recent Bloomberg piece about some techniques used in France to verify ....BC0Bs6J4 Not methods that everyone can call on, but the well-heeled are apparently doing so. Wine is a $3bil market these days, after all..

  Welcome guys. I would love to learn more of BC wines. Have only had a chance to try a few. Liked them all so far. BTW Japaneese Seafood and Sake are also my other passions. Thanks for reminding me that I have so much to learn still. Happy exploring.

I checked my notes, and we tried some good wines at the Baltimore Bend winery in Waverly, MO, west of Columbia, including a Norton and a Cabernet Franc, which I believe is home grown. I'll post when I get to my home computer. Crown Valley Winery south of St. Louis is a good example of the truck in the grapes mentality. The wines are good, but the vinifera are trucked in from CA. If one is visiting MO wineries, what's the point?    (hide)

  I want to put a plug in for the La Frenz Winery in BC. My wife and I really enjoyed their Viognier. We honeymooned in BC and enjoyed drinking some Okanagan wines. Very Nice
