Made from a blend of southern red grape varietals (52% Carignan, 24% Grenache Noir, 18% Mourvedre and 6% Syrah), the wine is cherry red with flashes of black in the glass with an intense nose of black currants, raspberries and licorice. As the wine op...

At first was only 3 stars, but improved after 15 minutes in the glass. Nose had cedar, cherry and olives. Viscous and chalky in mouth, with notes of pepper. Finish was maybe a little too tight. This wine may drink better next year.

This is a serious review--it tastes like grapefruit juice from a can. I'm not a big S. Blanc fan anyway, but this is icky. Trying to find a way to mix it into a palatable wine cooler. Not totally undrinkable, hence the 1 1/2 stars instead of 1, but to me it has no grassy notes, no undertones, nothing but a strong grapefruit taste. Much better S.... Read More
My introduction to Little Penguin wines began with their blockbuster vintage bottling of Cabernet Sauvignon from 2005. Subsequent vintages of 06 and 07' were good, but lacked the mouth-coating jammyness of cedar, spices and delicious bright fruit of the 05.' Now comes 2008 and my first thoughts are on it's similarities with the 05.' The nose is ... Read More

If you like "Zins".. then for the quality and the price you can't go wrong. About $8.00 a bottle, its very smooth, nice and fruity. Its a bit lighter than most Zins I purchase so if you like those heavy wines then this one is not for you. I would rate this wine 4 stars. Read More
Happened upon this website yesterday.I've found that I'm hard-pressed to find other mid-twenty-year-olds enthusiastic about experiencing different wines, so I thought I'd reach out a bit here and ask you, my fellow professed wine lovers:A summer sunset on the patio (as will be me this evening): just you, a glass of wine, and a good book--what es...
