Are you looking for hard to find wines or just that "special" wine? We know where to find them, because that's what we do, custom shopping! WineStars is a wine company specializing in premium, limited vintage and limited production wines. That is what our product is, however, what we really specialize in is service. We have real people at the other end of the phone, who are looking forward to finding the wines you want and introducing you to some of the best wines there are, which usually never make it out of northern California. We enjoy working with many of the smaller producers, who are often winemakers for larger wineries that produce under their own label. Of course, we have access to the bigger, more popular wines as well. We taste just about everything we sell, and never recommend something we don't feel is up to our standards. So, you can shop from the comfort of your favorite easy chair - no more standing in front of the rows and rows of wines at the huge wine warehouse store trying to figure Read more »

  • Paso Robles Trip Notes:I went to Paso Robles over the weekend of the 26th of September. I had intended to be there three days, but something came up and I was only there for Sat and part of Sun, so I ended up getting to just a small selection of places. But I could have been there a week and still not gone everywhere I wanted to go! I will re... Read More

Am I suppose to rate this myself? If So I'd give it 5 stars, Mike Loykasek doesn't make a single bad Wine! If this is the only wine of his then you need to try some of the other Wines he makes. He just came out with another Gunfighter Napa Diamond Mountain District Cab. Outstanding!! Same price as the Blend. I'd be willing to pay more! Read More

  • My wife gave me a gift certificate for my birthday which up until today I had not used. Today I was sent a coupon for 40% off at a prominent bookstore chain. So I used my coupon and my gift certificate and purchased the tome "Wine" edited by Andre' Domine'. I sat down with it for about an hour before purchasing it. It seems to be an extensiv... Read More

  • Posted on behalf of a user. c9dp isnt my specialist area, so thought I'd turn it over to the wiser and larger crowd:ThanksPJ~~~~~~Do you have any recommendations for a Chateauneuf-du-pape? We love fully structured, complex wines. This one sounds up my alley, but also one that most would probably feel strongly about...positively or negatively. I ... Read More

  • I just can't help but feel like both WA and WS are rating wines higher then they have in the past. These thoughts are coming from my true love in wine, Barolo. I remember reading reviews on wines from 1996, 1998, 1999, 2001 (all great vintages) and for some of the best producers in that region I would see scores of 90 - 94 for some of the best... Read More

  • Far Niente Chardonnay Napa Valley Estate Bottled 2007

Nice toasty oak with a crisp flavor. Not as rich and buttery as the 2004/2005s I tasted, but a good quality chardonnay from a consistent producer. -Tasted a Hostile Grape 8/5/09- Tasted at Lee's Wine Experience 11/7/09 I'd go to 4.25 stars this time. Read More

  • Linganore Wine Cellars Mountain White NV

This is absolutely my favorite wine. It is made with a Native American grape that reminds me of the grapes my grandparents used to grow on their farm. It brings back great childhood memories, so the 5 stars is a little biased, but is a very good wine. If you like sweet wines you should love it, taste very much like white grape juice. Read More
