Are you looking for hard to find wines or just that "special" wine? We know where to find them, because that's what we do, custom shopping! WineStars is a wine company specializing in premium, limited vintage and limited production wines. That is what our product is, however, what we really specialize in is service. We have real people at the other end of the phone, who are looking forward to finding the wines you want and introducing you to some of the best wines there are, which usually never make it out of northern California. We enjoy working with many of the smaller producers, who are often winemakers for larger wineries that produce under their own label. Of course, we have access to the bigger, more popular wines as well. We taste just about everything we sell, and never recommend something we don't feel is up to our standards. So, you can shop from the comfort of your favorite easy chair - no more standing in front of the rows and rows of wines at the huge wine warehouse store trying to figure Read more »

  • By far the most famous appellation in California, and for that matter in the USA is the Napa Valley. Encompassing virtually all of Napa County as well as 14 distinct AVAs (American Viticultural Area), this extensive valley system, about an hours drive north of San Francisco, is home to the cradle of Californias viticultural history. While Caber... Read More

  • Charles Krug Winery Peter Mondavi Family Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley 2007

    Snoothrank:

I think I've become addicted to New Zealand SBs. After getting used to their herbaceousness, fruity delights, crispness, and long finishes, I was a little disappointed in this wine.It was good, don't get me wrong - nice tropical fruit flavors, and a medium finish, but I just couldn't bump it up to 4 stars, especially at the price point. I thin... Read More

  • Read the article at Wines and Vines about how a journalist exposed the Spectator's Awards of Excellence. The ability to buy an Award of Excellence is fairly common thought in the restaurant industry, but this is pretty hard proof:http://www.winesandvines.com/template.cfm?section=news&content=57843 Read More

  • Bodegas Nieto Senetiner Malbec Cadus 2002

    Snoothrank:

This is by far the best wine produced by Nieto Senetiner. That said, it is a good Malbec but not among the stars of Mendoza. Full of body, nice nose, but a bit on the tanic side for me. Read More

  • Cobos Marchiori Vineyard 2003

    Snoothrank:

The best Argentina has to offer, a fantastic wine, with a fruity nose, hints of nice vanilla, some spices. Soft tanins and a very plesant finish, made the mistake of opening before a 2004 Beaucastel and it took the stars from it!!! Read More
