500 wines, 30 restaurants, and some nice background music spread out over 5 floors at the War Memorial. It would have been real tough to taste everything, so it's a good thing I didn't try. It was a ton of fun just getting to roam around the War Memorial, let alone taste some great wine and eat some delicious food. Overall, what I really liked ... Read More

I only started drinking wine about a month ago. I have never been a drinker of any kind, but having had wine at a few parties and wedding receptions recently, I decided that I like the stuff. I joined Snooth to get some good recommendations on new wines. I seem to like red wine the most. Of what I have tried I like Petite Sirah, Shiraz, Cabe... Read More
OK, so I got me a bottle of Justino's Sercial 10 yr old Madeira. Before I opened it i noticed that it seemed very cloudy but checked a few other bottles and all seemed the same. It's Madeira I thought like this wine has been cooked already what or how can this possibly be faulted. It was cloudy amber/orange color. A delicate nose of walnuts and b... Read More

The future of wine lies in sharing information amongst winos around the world. I am not a good writer by a mile but I want to give you some insight into the South African wine industry.Firstly this year, 2009, we'll be celebrating 350 years of making wine in this country - so much for "New world wines" as we're well known.I am winemaker at Neder...
