  • When I first became interested in wine I used to get Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino mixed up, never mind having difficulty pronouncing them. A few years down the line I’d sorted it; both are from the Tuscan town of Montalcino in Central Italy, from the same grape variety, and come in a similar shaped bottle. Or had I? A recent vi... • Mt. Etna is located in northeastern Sicily in the province of Catania. Viticulture on the lower slopes of Mt. Etna dates back millennia. We live, however, in an age where we want to know what you have done for me lately. That’s good news for Etna’s DOC wines. Winemaking on Europe’s most active volcano is hot, both literally and figuratively. Etn... Read More

  • Col d'Orcia Brunello di Montalcino 2002

    Snoothrank:

I thought about pouring this one through the aerator, but instead just let it breathe for an hour before tasting. The nose is quite complex, with a lot of different aromas going on that it almost makes you dizzy, there is a lovely smoky aroma that pervades the nose, with hints of dark fruit, leather and oak, and then there is a sudden twang of ... • Il Feuduccio Pecorino IGT Abruzzo 2011

    Snoothrank:

The wine had a light straw yellow color. After opening the bottle, there were aromas of green apple, lime, melon, flowers & mint. A very refreshing bouquet. On the palate, 'Pecorino' was fresh with a nice acidity. I tasted ripe fruits & honey. The finish was of medium length.Tasting notes from Vino in Love: http://vinoinlove.com/2011-il-feuduccio... Read More
