After years of running a successful contemporary art gallery, Stefano Campanini couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing. While many people enjoy contemporary art, even more people enjoy drinking wine while looking at art or drinking wine while looking at wine. Through this realization and with the aid of other enophiles with wine-business savvy, Stefano merged his passions for art and wine under the moniker Wine by the Bay, located downtown.

“I am looking forward to offering something that everyone enjoys and in an environment where the art can be appreciated by many and in an unintimidating way," Campanini says of the new, modern, 1,200-square-foot fine-wine and art boutique with terrace views of Biscayne Bay and a steady rotation of exhibitions. "At art openings, wine is like a sideshow, but now, it will take center stage."

  • That 'most livable' moniker about Vancouver has always cracked me up. Suicide rates, junky rates, rainy-day rates, affluent 'immigrant' (former 'communist block', etc. over the past 20 years particularly) influx driving up real estate prices beyond local reach, etc., etc. Seems certain statistics are being ignored in that kind of chamber-of-comm... • Thanks for taking the time to check it out.  I know it's probably dull and irrelevant to most of you guys.Where I was going with this is that it's already effected my local BC Wine shop.  It's about five minutes drive away and loaded with great stuff that you would ordinarily have to go to the wineries to get.  They do great tastings on the week... • Maybe we need to start a thread about making vinegar.  I'm a self-taught vinegaron (like that coinage?); any time I see an interesting wine from some region or grape that's new to me on the shelves of the discounter, I buy one and tell myself, "If it's bad, I'll make vinegar."  Assuming of course that it's pretty cheap.  This practice has worked... • Well, Duncan, Southwestern Florida and SoCal are quite a bit different from Blighty, though they may not represent all of 'America' perfectly. One (Ft. Myers) is at one corner of the Caribbean, and the other (Santa Barbara) is in the center of what's called 'The American Riviera', which can also help explain why there's so much wine grown there....
