Very pleasant cab as it it introduced to the palate. Maybe a tad more fruity than a lot of California Cabernets. Flavors include blackbery or maybe black cherry. Very sedate tannins would make this wine attractive to a lot of people. US$16.99 at Costco a year ago. Read More

I think that maybe people were being a bit tongue-in-cheek because your original post may have sounded a bit commercial-like, or perhaps presuming that you are a source of enlightenment for these guys (many of whom know quite a bit about wine already). I really don't feel anyone was making fun in a mean sense....This is coming from someone who r... Read More

YMP, in our household, we look for contrasts. So, if we are having a red meat entree with a robust Cabernet Sauvignon, we are going to have a lighter wine with the apps. I think the Kim Crawford was perfect. That being said, as often as not, a guest will bring a wine gift over. Invariably, it will be a Merlot. (I don't know what is going on,... Read More

Gee, the fact that some of you are not so nice, friendly or welcoming might explain why I am not a frequent visitor here and it also sheds some light on why unfortunately many people are intimidated by wine and people who come across as wine snobs. Read More

I have a question.. When you are serving appetizers.. and you are going to have Cab for a dinner wine with Beef Tenderloin.. what are some good choices of reds to serve with wine/cheese or any other before meal appitizers...? I served Kim Crawford Savugiou Blanc but didn't know what a good red wine choice would be.. Read More

I've had quite a few Gewurztraminers, but none of them were Alsatian. Boy was I ever surprised by this one...a whopper of a wine. Medium to full bodied, intense and complex - both on the nose and the palate. The nose is pretty amazing in its complex intensity: sweet peach, candy, vanilla, flowers, honey, apple, and a hint fresh salty minerality ... Read More

Notes of apple and pineapple/sweet tropical fruit on the nose. More sweet juicy apple on the palate, with notes of lime/citrus zest. The apple is really the most dominant flavor here, but it's kind of multidimensional, and also reminds me of baked apple/apple pie filling. I think the sweetness levels put this wine closer to off-dry. There are al... Read More

Oh Ya! Like a party in your mouth..yum. Fruity, aromatic, full of tiny bubbles (yes I'm singing) and not overly sweet. More delicate than a spumanti. Bottle is gone in no time. Great price... gotta get more! Quite a delightful wine. Read More

This is actually a white port wine but tastes more like cream sherry; should have been released sooner me thinks. Peach & rose petals on the nose, but flavor of pecans. I mixed it with club soda to make it more drinkable. A very pricey little 500ml bottle - I won't be buying more. Read More
