Really smooth drinking wine. Wanted a bit more fruit, which is why only 4 stars but great balance.

medium bodied with appealing red fruits, smokey dark cherries and chocolate. After an hour or two of decanting the wine gains a bit more flesh, with more ripe fruit. This wine is fresh and well balanced. Excellent Value!
|Region:||France » Rhône » Northern Rhône » Hermitage|
Good wine for someone who likes bigger and more interesting wines.
|Region:||Australia » South Australia|
The 2014 is a bit more fruity than previous vintages which hurts the balance some but really drinkable wine.

One more wine bargain.

Delicious, cheap, and goes well with food. What more can I ask from a wine?
|Region:||Argentina » Mendoza|
An enjoyable, if not overtly memorable, wine that demands nothing more than, "drink me."
|Winery:||Chateau St. Jean Winery & Vineyards|
|Region:||USA » California » Sonoma County Green Valley|
Amazing chardonnay. Much more flavor (caramel?) than their other chards. Good as a drinking wine.

A couple of things - You say you didn't notice for a week. Q#1 Does that mean it could have been unplugged for a longer period of time? Good wine fridges are insulated and meant to keep the cold air in, so as they warmed, it was probably gradual - sudden temp spikes for long periods of time cause more damage than slow elevations in temps. OT's s... Read More
85° in the house? Really?Did any of the bottles leak? Do all the capsules spin by hand? 85° isn't going to kill the wine. Wine is a lot more resilient than we give it credit for. If there wasn't any signs of leakage I wouldn't sweat it. Read More
Hi, Just had some insulation put in our walls and the installer unplugged our cooler! We didn't notice it for about a week and that was during some hefty temps outside. It probably got to 85 in the house for a couple days. Had a bunch of 2012 anniversary wines in there being stores a 56 degrees. Do you think a week of higher temps will eff... Read More
Strange wine. Moldy nose. (May be corked.) Very unusual mouthfeelseems weighty. Very dulled flavor of dried fruit. Then, some saltiness. (?) Lots of tart acidity like I might expect from a Chianti, but more a fuller body than a Chianti. It will be easy to pass up on this wine the next time I see it on a store shelf. Read More
Haven't put up one of these in awhile. This time will make things more specific and real, in that you will need to imagine you're hosting a meal at this restaurant in London's Soho. It's something I did a few times during my period of busy London business visits at the end of the '80s through early last decade. The first time I sweated a bit bec... Read More
I bought this bottle of wine from a shop in London's Notting Hill [www.oddbins.com ] for £12. Saint Veran is an appellation created in 1971,although viticulture has been carried out in the area since at least the Romans,for white wines made of the chardonnay grape from 8 communes in the southern part of the Maconais region of Burgundy.Some of th... OK, since several people made some kind comments, I'll add this to my previous post about the Keenan and that CF.First, yes, it is a very good wine.Several people here, know that I am a Keenan cheerleader. I confess that I am a member of their club. So, twice a year they send me a four-bottle package. Keenan is, mostly, a red wine producer, b... Read More
Well you did good to try it a little later. All the GGs are picked at Spatlese level and then fermented dry. For me it's of more academic interest than anything else and I'd probably have done what you did - wonder WTF and put the wine away. Good thing you got back to it in full control of your faculties!It's kind of weird though isn't it - the ... Read More
You like those Bedrock wines EM. I'm not fond of a grassy taste though, and I've tasted that before with a couple of Sauvignon Blanc wines.Tonight Sandra and I did our last Wine in the Water Park event for the season. There is one more next Friday but we will be at The Kennedy Center for another event that night. Good weather and lots of fun ... Read More
