Vin, Vino, Wine was established in 1985 to provide Peninsula wine lovers with a source for high quality, artisan-produced wines. It is an independent, locally owned shop run by and for wine lovers. Our primary areas of expertise are the wine districts of France, Italy and California. We also offer carefully chosen wines from Spain, Australia, Oregon and New Zealand. Our goal is to provide our clientele access to the most interesting, highest quality wines available in the marketplace at each price level, from the very reasonable to the very rare and collectable. The result is a heavy bias towards passionate, small-scale producers over commercial mass market ones, because that's where we find the greatest wines and the best values. Integral to our wine shop is an in-store tasting bar. We offer six to ten wines for tasting each day, giving interested wine lovers the opportunity to sample extensively from our inventory. Our tasting bar offers the chance to experience wines from unfamiliar winemakers Read more »

  • Sometimes I have to think a minute about what sort of wine would be appropriate with an activity, rather than a certain meal.  I mean, you might pour a glass of wine without any thought given to a food stuff that might be consumed while you enjoy the wine. For instance, I could come home and find one of our cats sleeping on the couch in the fami... • In this case, a '79 Mondavi Chardonnay Reserve stole the show. Just the fact that it was still upright, despite passive cellaring (another from a previously discussed estate sale my neighbor scored on) was enough to write about. However, this surprisingly gave some real, almost sublime pleasure, despite being on the precipice of oxidation. It dr... Read More
