So it turns out your intimations of cassis and petroleum have more to do with saliva than smarts.Or so it seems. This past week, Palate Press contributor Erica Szymanski profiled the slimy nether-regions of the sinewy taster that is your tongue, diving deep into its saliva-laden recesses to pull out a gem of a discovery about how the unseen bacte... Later, I received a phone call informing me that they had run out of that particular wine but would be happy to substitute a "similar wine at a similar price." I decli...
