  • Wine has the unique ability to, at the same time, stand inside and outside of history. This past week Villa Torlonia, a museum and estate near Rome, opened to visitors the doors of its World War II-era bomb shelter. Before the underground hideout served as a refuge from possible air attacks, it served as a wine cellar for infamous dictator Benit... Read More

  • DV, what kind of wine, and what kind of issues with it?Have not, to my knowledge, had any Moldovan wine. So unfortunately this massive bunker complex, that happens to house wine at the moment, isn't as interesting as it might otherwise be. Probably my loss.Am I wrong in assuming, AS, that you haven't actually visited the place? Read More

  • Hey all! I just published a new article on my blog that goes into a little depth about the largest wine cellar and wine collection in the world. Tunnels are over 100 miles long, although only 34 miles are used. At a depth of 80 meters underground there are nearly 2 million bottles stored in this collection!Enjoy! :) http://www.britwit.co/britwit... Read More

  • Hi all!Hoping to wade into interesting wine talk (and food talk).  Me, I've been seriously enjoying and exploring wine for just over 20 years. On the red side, right now I'm partial to wines from Spain and the Rhone valley, but other loves are Oregon pinots, really good Italian wines (yes, it's endless, but that's the fun), and wanting to try mu... • I think this wine store is fabulous! It is hard to find really good wines in the area. They have a nice selection and the prices are fair. I am a wine lover and know my wines. I found customer service to be knowledgeable and very helpful. I would recommend it to all of my friends and family.

  • The Wine Bunker has some great wines at affordable prices. It is laid out for easy to find wines and regions! Shouldn't your great wines also have 'great' customer service to go with it?? They lack any kind of customer service, being it asking if they can help or even 'noticing' that you are in 'their' store to spend money! Yikes! I've worked...

  • Snooth indicated that The Wine Bunker had Redhead Studios Yard Dog Red in stock. I made a trip and they didn't have it. Apparently it is on their web site, but not available in store, and you can't order on their web site. In a separate experience my wife went in. She said there were 3 employees at the checkout holding a private conversation,...

  • I live in Southwestern, PA which is a pretty rich region for history of the French and Indian War. There's a great winery near Fort Necessity that names it's blends after historical people and things, such as the Jumonville Glen Red that I had this weekend ( an interesting and diverse blend of Cabernet Franc, Chambourcin and St. Croix--the latte...
