The Spanish Table specializes in wines from Spain, Portugal and Argentina. We also have a large selection of rare Vintage Ports, Madeiras and Sherry. In addition to our wine website, we also have four retail shops throughout the United States where we specialize in foods, wines and cookware from the Iberian Peninsula. The Spanish Table came into being in 1995 to help pass on our love of the Iberian Peninsula. The wine website is the online resource for wines from the Iberian Peninsula. We have one of the largest selections of Spanish wine in the US along with an extensive selection of Madeira, Sherry and Port. Everything from great values to some of Spain and Portugal’s rarest and hardest to find wines. We also have an extensive collection of wines from Argentina and Chile. The Berkeley store opened in 2001 and was the second location of The Spanish Table. Our Bay Area location adds an Iberian flair to Berkeley's rich International Marketplace District. Easy to find from I-80 and BART, we are located between Hearst and Delaware, just north of University Ave. Street parking is plentiful.

  • I love N. Rhone Syrah.  It's my favorite red wine in France.  But the acreage of the region is so small and the area that provide its best wines even smaller, that prices have hit the roof.  Sure, there are a few St. Josephs and Crozes-Hermitages that come in around $25, but those are either made for earlier drinking and a lot less thrilling wit... • Liver what? It’s that great wine region you’ve never heard of. Less than an hour from San Francisco. A growing wine scene based on a century and a half of history. Great climate, friendly people, tasting rooms that are not filled to capacity with people you don’t want to be rubbing shoulders with. You know, one of those regions that is truly up ... Read More

The point is, especially vividly on this day, to discover. Now granted for many those wines would be a discovery, but not for all. It's a proven list, u... Read More

  • So we have some interest in having a West Coast meet-up (or you can call it a throw-down) for Pinot.  Here's my opening proposal:  We'll do it very close to the Oakland Airport, to save those who are traveling in from out of town (like Emark and JonDerry) from having extra travel if they want to fly.  This would give LuchaVino a chance to attend... • While perusing wines at a quaint boutique in Nova Scotia during a writing respite today, an interesting thought occurred to me. Unless I've overlooked it, there has not been a vibrant thread regarding odd wine labels on this platform heretofore. What are some of the oddest wine labels you've seen or currently have cellared away?  Which most beli... Read More
