The Spanish Table specializes in wines from Spain, Portugal and Argentina. We also have a large selection of rare Vintage Ports, Madeiras and Sherry. In addition to our wine website, we also have four retail shops throughout the United States where we specialize in foods, wines and cookware from the Iberian Peninsula. The Spanish Table came into being in 1995 to help pass on our love of the Iberian Peninsula. The wine website is the online resource for wines from the Iberian Peninsula. We have one of the largest selections of Spanish wine in the US along with an extensive selection of Madeira, Sherry and Port. Everything from great values to some of Spain and Portugal’s rarest and hardest to find wines. We also have an extensive collection of wines from Argentina and Chile. The Berkeley store opened in 2001 and was the second location of The Spanish Table. Our Bay Area location adds an Iberian flair to Berkeley's rich International Marketplace District. Easy to find from I-80 and BART, we are located between Hearst and Delaware, just north of University Ave. Street parking is plentiful.

  • Day 2 update:I think the biggest takeaway from this trip is going to be...It really AIN’T all about the Zin!In fact, Zin biggots (like you, EMark) are welcome here with opened arms. While Zin is Lodi’s flagship wine, it is not by any means the only grape upon which the region hangs its hat. I’m sure many of you who’ve had a chance to visit or ta... Read More

  • Sandra and I were fortunate yesterday to attend a quickly sold out (57 minutes after the e-mail went out to the RdV Ambassador members, it was fully booked) 'Introduction to Blind Tasting' class at our favorite Northern Virginia winery, RdV.  Getting our two slots in this class was tough, as we didn't call them until 5 or 6 hours after their e-m... • Hey, I hear that VTs are coming back, with one scheduled for March!  Not to steal the thunder, so I won't leak what the region/grape is going to be (regulars, watch your mail boxes if you live in the US), but it's going to be good if my inbox is any indication.I'm opening up the floor to ask the question, "Who do you think will be the host?"  Ma... • So dmcker, that might be a good one for another thread:  What goes best ... we received a gift card to The Spanish Table and a copy of their cookbook.  Lots of paella recipes and history, and one thing that stuck with me was that paella originally had snails. It was peasant food, and snails, rabbit, really anything that you could harvest or ca... Read More

  • In this case, a '79 Mondavi Chardonnay Reserve stole the show. Just the fact that it was still upright, despite passive cellaring (another from a previously discussed estate sale my neighbor scored on) was enough to write about. However, this surprisingly gave some real, almost sublime pleasure, despite being on the precipice of oxidation. It dr... Read More
