Syrah/Shiraz on Snooth

Soft and smooth. This is not your overextracted fruitbomb australian Shiraz. This is a subdued well-balanced artisan wine that was made with love and care. Some coffee and black fruit notes. ready to drink now or until 2011.

Mollydooker Shiraz The Boxer 2008

Starting at $21.09 Snoothrank: 4/5

Excellent wine. Definitely picking up on the plum and mild pepper. I was most taken by the smoothness and velvety texture. I think best at room temperature. Let no chill touch this wine.

Pillar Box Reserve Shiraz Shiraz Australia 2006

Starting at $15.55 Snoothrank: 3.5/5
November 2009

A nice Australian Shiraz.

The Winners Tank Shiraz 2008

Starting at $14.74 Snoothrank: 3/5
November 2009

Looks like you've enjoyed pinot noir from Oregon, and syrah/shiraz from Oz and elsewhere. I'll start with four suggestions that I've already made in other Snooth threads, one set slightly below your price range and one set...

Colour very dark ruby. Aroma fresh. tastes berrylike and "bubbly". Very good price/quality.

Mc William's Hanwood Shiraz 2006

Starting at $13.15 Snoothrank: 3/5
November 2009

My go-to, everyday red. Not great, but never fails to please, either.

Rojo Mojo Shiraz 2005

Starting at $6.60 Snoothrank: 3/5
