. . . and, boy, are my arms tired.I don't know when I first heard the term "Super Tuscan." I'm guessing that it was 10-12 years ago. I really did not know what it meant--me being very focussed on my California world.I did, of course, learn that a Super Tuscan was a wine that was made from grapes that were outside the Tuscany tradition--specifi... November 2012
Well most everyone has received their wines and have had them resting for a while. Unfortunately, we had a few shipping issues along the way, but all in all I think we did pretty good. Foxall is the only one not to have received anything yet, while Shi's SS wasn't heard from, but luckily an elf stepped in and sent her some wine. Finally, it look... Read More

Thought it would be a great idea for us to take part in trading some of our favorite wines to each other this holiday season. Something in the $30 - 40+ range retail sounds about right (best if found at cheaper/cheapest retailer), and the wines should be ready to drink now so we can all post about our impressions of the wines we were given, but ... Must admit I'm becoming a convert to this wine, I know it seems to get a lot of negative press having a reputation as a lowly ' Workhorse ' grape. but I enjoy the richness, tannins that grip you and the dense meaty flavours. I'm planning on being in Napa on Wednesday the 25th and will probably visit at least two wineries while there. Anyone care to meet up, just let me know.My first priority seems to be Outpost Winery, though there are a few others I'm considering, I'll probably start at Outpost at 2pm if they can accommodate. Never tried any Malbec but i have been hearing good things about Argentinian wine. Labels like Susana Balbo, Alamos and Altos Las Hormigas are said to be good for a reasonable price tag. Most of the wine i have at the moment is from Spain, Australia and South Africa, (Mostly Reds, Shiraz & Cabs) maybe i should give Malbec a go!Any Argentinian exp... May 2010
Would definitely be interested in hearing what people think are the best wineries, and wines, in the Okanagan. Hopefully with an explanation why. Have a good friend going for an extended stay, based in Kelowna, in a month or so, and it'd be nice to be able to offer some pointers. She and her husband drink a lot of New Zealand sauvignon blanc,... Read More
