At the Select Liquors we operate according to the XXI century requirements. We operate on the planet Internet with limited presence on planet Earth. Of course we have brick and mortar business too, you can come and visit us at our stores in Allston, MA and Brookline, MA , but unlike other wine stores we focus our sales on the Internet, keeping our overhead low, passing benefits to buyers. Our portfolio can be divided into 2 major categories - "Steal of the day" subscription based distribution list, - "All you can get" products. "Steal of the day". There are times when our suppliers offer wines and liquors that are almost too good to be true. There just isn’t enough room in their warehouse, and a few containers of wine are coming in. They have to move the current stock out, and are willing to drop prices. The current vintage is in, and they still have a good amount of the last one and, while it may be drinking better than the “new” one, they will offer Read more »

Bought wine for a wedding. These guys provided storage for 6 month for free. Excellent customer service. GM is very knowledgeable and responds very promptly.
Okay, so this is not news, and it's been discussed on the forum before. In the spirit of GDP's new rants, I figured I'd throw mine out there as well. I've seen too many hangovers caused by misjudged pacing due to wild variations in alcohol content.Mostly this is difficult in restaurants. If we're shopping in stores we can check the label easily ... Read More
I like the idea of packaging something very much. Especially if it is to pass hands as a product from creator to customer. It changes perspective, interpretation and how we feel about the product. Powerful stuff. I think people have admitted to being happily sucked into the magic of shiny upgraded Hoovers and cute PDF sized McMeals in the past b... Read More

Great selection of wine and booze online, not too great at the store, that's why only 4 1/2 stars. Sometimes I just want to place my order and grab my stuff on the way home, you know? It does get a tad hairy on Friday night with long lines of ppl, but call in advance and you'll be out in no time.

Called them on a Holiday weekend. I wanted to buy a Cakebread Cab 2004. They had 2006 only. Very knowledgeable girl immediately suggested an alternative - Seavey Cab 2006 at 40$. That was a steal. THANK YOU!!!!! Hope I live next to them. :-)

This place makes me happy, it's as simple as that. When I'm looking for specific brands, they've always can get it for me even, on some cases, they don't have it on hand. When I haven't the faintest idea of what I want, the friendly staff helps me narrow down what I'm craving. I have never once entered this store without someone A) asking if I w...

SL is the best Boston liquor store period. Prices are very competitive. Staff are a PRO!!!! You just tell them what you want, they punch it into a handheld computer and the dumbwaiter sends up your order. It's quick, they're nice and give excellent recommendations, and you'll feel good;) PS. Did I tell you that I bought more than 12 cases fro...
Hey everyone, what's the buzz in the US right now about buying Bordeaux 2009 En Primeur?I have never known a vintage to be so 'talked-up' by the press. Investors are hanging on to Parker's index fingers waiting with drooling tongues and wagging tails for it to spout forth its Midas touch. This is THE vintage of the last 100 years folks. Broke...
