For $6.22/bottle, Sam's Club bought the entire Lot. You can buy it even if you don't have a Sam's card. Go to membership services and you can buy only alcohol at Sam's without a membership. It is tasting so good. Surely not at $6-buck wine. This w...

It is pretty cool, Sam, that as people do delve deeper their tastes and appreciations do change. Dry wine drinkers learn that Sweet wines are good. Sweet wine drinkers evolve to appreciate dry wines. Red wine bigots find that there are times when a crisp white wine is completely ethereal. Enjoy the journey. When you say you prefer sweet wine... Read More
I'm a wine newbie and love the helpful information on this site! I prefer SWEET wines at the moment (but that may change as I delve deeper in the wine world!) and I would love any recommendations. Read More
Before I retired I did a stint as chairman of Hawkes Bay Vintners (all the wineries in Hawkes Bay) and was asked to write a short article for the local newspaper. All the wineries offered tasting of most of their wines and sometimes I felt, the public didn't really understand how enthusiastic winemakers were about their product."Lets do the wine... Read More
Yesterday, the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies released the menu as well as the wines for Obama's 2nd inauguration dinner on January 21st. Following a Wall Street Journal article yesterday, wine sites and blogs are exploding with news that Robert Parker has sold a substantial share of The Wine Advocate to a group of young investors in Singapore. The "game-changing" publication will see some major changes. Do you think these changes will be a good thing or do they risk losing subsc... Read More
As a Californian, I have felt the loss of such old names as Almaden, Christian Brothers and Inglenook. (OK, I guess Almaden still exists as a mocking shell of its former being. OK, I know it never was great, but their bottles did have corks. Maybe I am the only person who feels a sense of loss of Almaden.) Another of the old abused names is ... Read More
I know there have been at least one or two conversations about buying wines at Costco, but I happened to catch the one hour documentary about Costco on CNBC, last night. They actually spent a significant portion of the program (8-9 minutes) about wine sales. Here is the thing that blew me away. Apparently, annual wine sales at Costco exceed a... Read More
Was just mulling around thinking about the things that I enjoy and what attracts me to those things. I realized that I am a creature who enjoys change. Snooth provides me change in many ways. I gives expert information about a subject matter that I like (wine), it is interesting because it is always varied, one of likes and dislikes, it's rewardi... Read More
If you're more than a casual wine drinker, if you follow wine the way bookies follow horses and TMZ follows starlets, then you're familiar with the Natural Wine movement. How could you not be? In the last couple of years, it seems as if every cogent wine commentator in print from San Francisco to Sydney has seen fit to write about the phenomenon... Read More
