One Stop Liquor on Snooth-
December 2012
Following a Wall Street Journal article yesterday, wine sites and blogs are exploding with news that Robert Parker has sold a substantial share of The Wine Advocate to a group of young investors in Singapore. The "game-changing" publication will see some major changes. Do you think these changes will be a good thing or do they risk losing subsc... Read More

Just sharing a little something I started with a few friends two years ago. I live in North Central Minnesota, almost right smack dab in the middle of the continent. There's not a lot of options around here if you're into wines or especially collecting wines. This year will be our third wine tour, or rather, wine buying tour. Basically what ... Read More

I noticed that OutThere purchased seven bottles of a particular wine at $14 and it occurred to me that it was a $100 purchase, and enough to last about a week. So I got curious, and mentioned in the thread that it would be interesting to know how much per week people spent. Well, Emark has better records and more time on his hands than I do, a... Read More

For some time now, I have noticed a pattern with men who disparage rose as being a "girly" wine. Some of the most accomplished and masculine sommeliers I know would rather drink rose than pretty much anything else. Any thoughts on the male problem with drinking rose? Read More

How things have changed. When I first joined Snooth which has been quite a while now I was drinking mainly reds, usually Shiraz and Rioja and not much else. Now I find myself drinking a wide variety and really enjoying every minute. I think i have now become a real 'wine lover', I can't get enough, not only drinking but talking and reading about ... Read More

Starlight Vineyards Alexander Valley Zinfandel 2005
Snoothrank:
Nice black fruit and pepper on the nose. Cherry bomb on the palate. Nice long finish with a hint of smokiness and tar. Dangerously smooth at 15.1%abv....you can hardly tell there's alcohol in this at all. Had company over tonight and got this out of the cellar. Had several people ask what it was. This stuff stole the show. Astoundingly go... Read More

The discussion about "natural wine" Vs "industrial wine" is really hot in Italy. After hundred of posts, articles and discussion i can resume my opinion: 1) i like good wines, 2) i don't like bad wines, i can just add i particulary love territorial good wines.Too much simple? There's some hot discussion around and not for all the issue is so simp... I've recently discovered my interest in wine since turning 21, and I've been learning some of the lingo through this great site. I'm about to graduate from college in May, and I hope to leave my days of Franzia and refrigerated Yellow Tail out of a solo cup behind.I have a lot to learn, but I just wanted some input from you on how to become a w... I am about to open a Wine Store and I am at that point where almost all of the Predictable wines have been ordered. Some of these wines are very good, nothing wrong with being on every other wine store. However, I would love to be able to offer to my clients wines that are perhaps made on smaller quantities but of very good quality and both, a... Read More

Okay, so this is not news, and it's been discussed on the forum before. In the spirit of GDP's new rants, I figured I'd throw mine out there as well. I've seen too many hangovers caused by misjudged pacing due to wild variations in alcohol content.Mostly this is difficult in restaurants. If we're shopping in stores we can check the label easily ... Read More
